Ingredients:
- 1 cup light coconut milk, canned
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon turmeric, powder
- ¼ teaspoon ginger, ground
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 dash black pepper
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, add all the ingredients.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and allow it to boil for about one minute.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the golden milk simmer for 7-10 minutes, stirring sparingly with a whisk or frother.
- Enjoy the golden milk hot immediately. For a refreshing beverage, let it cool down and blend with ice!
Extra Tips:
- Replace coconut milk with hemp milk or soy milk for reduced saturated fat and increased protein.
- Replace ground ginger with fresh ginger for extra aroma and flavour.
- Coconut milk and black pepper aid in the absorption of curcumin, the active anti-inflammatory component in turmeric.
